Why This Exists

The lead is not the problem. The feelings on it are.

A reactive walk is miserable from both ends of the lead: the scanning, the stiffening, the explosion at a dog across the road, the apologising, the walks at 5am to avoid everyone. And most advice makes it worse: corrections add pain to an already loaded moment, and 'socialisation' marches the dog straight into the thing it cannot cope with.

This course takes the working route: diagnose WHICH engine drives your dog's reactions (frustrated greeting, fear, or prey arousal, which look similar but each need their own adjustments), fix the handling mechanics that accidentally feed it, then rebuild the walk with my method: silence, confidence and calm rewarded, plus a routine that lowers the whole dog's baseline. Calm walks are trained, not wished for.

The Course

Six modules. Everything in order.

Diagnosis, then reading, then mechanics, then foundations, then the trigger work itself, then the routine that holds it all. The order is the method.

Module 1

Why Sighthounds React on Lead

The three reactivity engines (frustration, fear, prey), why the lead itself changes behaviour, sighthound-specific patterns, and diagnosing your own dog.

Module 2

Reading the Reaction

The loading sequence before an outburst, exactly what to do when your dog explodes, trigger stacking across a walk, and recovery: the calm you reward.

Module 3

Equipment and Handling Mechanics

Sighthound-correct equipment for reactive work, a short lead that is never tight, the side switch and banana curve, and why your own confidence is half the problem.

Module 4

The Engagement Foundation

Rewarding calm without a fuss, why silence is the signal, and getting ready to walk your normal routes again.

Module 5

Working Around Triggers

The working loop on real walks: see it, say nothing, get between, keep walking, reward the calm. Plus engine-specific adjustments, and surviving the plateau.

Module 6

The Calm Walk Routine

The weekly walk plan, knowing your routes, lifetime maintenance, and enjoying the dog again.

Is This Course Right for You

This course is for you if...

✓ Your sighthound barks, spins, whines or lunges at dogs, people, traffic or wildlife on lead
✓ Walks have become tense, early-morning affairs you quietly dread
✓ You want to know WHY your dog reacts, not just suppress the display
✓ You are ready to stay calm, stay silent and walk past, instead of hiding from every dog
✓ You want a walking routine that stays calm for the dog's whole life

This course is not for you if

✗Your dog has redirected onto you or bitten: add qualified in-person help alongside this material
✗You want a correction that switches the display off without changing the emotion
✗You expect one week: reactivity work is measured in weeks and months, honestly
